1. Pre Event tour to Savonlinna – Opera Tour

Departure and return: The pre tour starts from Helsinki on Saturday at 7.30 and ends on Sunday at approximately 18.30 in Tampere, total duration 2 days.

Price: 640 EUR/person (minimum 20 persons)

The price includes bus transportatioOlavinlinna 3nettin Helsinki-Savonlinna-Tampere, accommodation including breakfast in double rooms in Hotel Tott in Savonlinna, two lunches, one dinner, Verdi’s La Traviata Opera performance ticket in price category 2, excursions and transportation as stated below as well as tour leader services. Minimum number of participants required is 20. Tour will be arranged only if this number is reached by 6 March 2015. Kindly note that payment for the Savonlinna pre tour must be made by 6 March 2015.

2. Pre Event Tour to Mänttä – Art Tour

Monday 3 August – Tuesday 4 August
Departure and return: The pre tour starts from Tampere on Monday at 7.30 and ends on Tuesday at approximately 19.00 in Tampere, total duration 2 days.

Price: 355 EUR/person (minimum 20 persons)

The price includes bus transportation Tampere-Mänttä-Tampere, accommodation including breakfast in double rooms in Mänttä Club (some of the rooms are with shared bathroom), two lunches, one dinner, two coffee breaks, one break with juice, admission fees to the museums, excursions and transportation as stated below, as well as tour leader services. Additional fee for drinks during meals and an additional fee of 40 EUR for a single room.

 

Monday 3 August:

Departure from Tampere from Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere at 8.30 by bus to Mänttä. Welcome coffee at Serlachius Museum Gustaf. The Gustaf Museum building was constructed as the head office of the forest combine G.A. Serlachius Ltd. in 1934. The topic subjects of exhibitions have a connection to history or to almost any area of life. Often they relate to life in a small Finnish town connected to paper industry from the 19th century up to the present-day. A guided tour in the museum after which a possibility to see The Paper Devil and other exhibitions without a guide.

At 12.15 a guided tour in Mänttä after which lunch in Myllyranta at 13.15. Also a possibility for shopping in Myllyranta boutiques.

At 15.00 a visit to Honkahovi art exhibition. G.A.Serlachius Inc. had the beautiful functionalistic building Honkahovi built in 1938 by Mäntänlahti bay to be used as the official residence of CEO R. Erik Serlachius. In the afternoon a visit to Mäntänvuori with an outdoor activity in the Nordic walking park. Visit to the Mäntänvuori tower and a juice break at the cafe. Arrival and dinner (drinks not included) at Mänttä Club which will also be our accommodation.

Tuesday 4 August:

After breakfast a guided tour in Serlachius Museum Gösta at 10.00. Art museum Gösta shows several thematic art exhibitions. The collections are known for the masterpieces of Finnish Golden Age of art as well as old European masters. The Pavilion that was opened in 2014 presents contemporary art collections. Also the Manor Park and the Taavetinsaari Island are worth a visit. Lunch at Gösta restaurant at 12.00.

After lunch a visit to Taitokeskus Mänttä, a handicraft centre and at 14.00 a guided visit in Pekilo to see an exhibition belonging to the annual Mänttä Art Festival which is the biggest annual event for contemporary art in Finland. Afternoon coffee at 15.30 at Vilpun Vintti where you can also shop souvenirs. Bus back to Tampere, arrival at around 18.00.

3. Post Event Tour to Helsinki – Tallinn

Important:

Every participant on the tour to St Petersburg will apply for his/her own visa. For obtaining of visa in your own country we will supply you with a visa support document. This Visa Support Letter will be issued for the dates of travel booked by Lomalinja Oy, Holiday Tours Ltd. However, the cost for a visa is not included in the post tour price.

For the visa support letter the following information is needed:

  • full name as written in passport
  • date of birth
  • nationality
  • number of passport

NB. The passport has to be valid for minimum 6 months after the tour to Russia.

What is needed for obtaining of the tourist visa?

  • a duly filled visa application form of the Russian Consulate. Important to fill in all personal details (working place, address, telephone number etc.). The form should be signed, no changes/corrections are allowed afterwards
  • one colour passport photo (not older than 3 months)
  • original passport which must be valid for six months after the expiry date of visa valid travel
  • valid travel medical insurance
